We've thrown the baby out with the bath water.

We have correctly come out against child abuse.

We have correctly come out against lustful thoughts.

We have gone too far. We threaten the future of mankind.

There has always been a positive side to the male sex drive. It drives one to seek a wife, reproduce and bring up wonderful children. IT DOES ALL OF THESE THINGS.

How does it do that? In Western Cultures, heterosexual males end up interested in sex, interested in girls enough to seek one and marry one, and interested in children (sometimes) - this can lead one to produce MORE children.

Note: "sublimination" is taking, say, a strange sexual urge (lets say you wake up one day and find younger people a bit "too" interesting, and using it for something socially acceptable, and, therefore, most likely good and productive.

A common example of sublimination is that many men who work with youth are somewhat attracted to them.

This is how we throw the baby out with the bathwater: Rather than merely outlaw child abuse, we have actually outlawed sublimination, fantasy, dirty thoughts, looking to lust, doing good things with an alterior motive, etc.

My, my, how pure we have become, but at what price?

Here are the prices we have paid:

1. Men wonder if its worth getting married in the first place.
2. Men wonder if its worth having children.
3. This becomes yet another reason for birth rates to drop.
4. Men avoid working with children.
5. Boys and girls grow up without interested fathers or interested coaches, mentors, teachers, etc.
6. Boys end up weaker and less capable than girls, overall, when it used to be the reverse.
7. Test scores for boys drop relative to girls and relative to boys before them.
8. Men are in constant danger of going to jail over a false accusation or even a true accusation for a non-harmful event (such as horse-play or looking at appropriate photos).
9. Men must constantly deny any "unusual" interests of any kinds. One hundred years ago Lord Baden-Powell could openly rush to see boys skinny-dipping and sing the praises of boys all day long as he set up the Scouting organization which would help build up 400 million boys. TODAY HE WOULD BE ARRESTED. He was guilty, among other things, of looking at posed nude photos of boys and shamelessly revealing in a letter how much he enjoyed the photos. Today, in some countries, activities like that can carry a TEN year prison sentence.
10. The power of the false accusation is so great that men are coming to expect that someday they may marry, then divorce, and then their former wife will, as part of the divorce, falsely accuse the of molesting one or more children, usually their own.

It is incredibly difficult to stop this trend.

To even argue against it is to invite a false accusation.

We think that by being draconian and ultra-conservative that we protect our children, but in fact we endanger people by our policies.
